Airbnb Is Hosting a Spooky Stay at the Original 'Scream' House

The property was actually commissioned by John (aka “Jack”) and Carolyn MacPhail, not McPhail, who were in their late 50s, not 70s. A photo of a plaque displayed on the front of Stu’s house that was posted to Instagram by a guy named Ben who attended the Scream Comes Home event in 2018 further confirms Mandy’s information. Prior to the 2021 Halloween season, David Arquette, who plays Dewey in all of the movies, was part of a Scream promotion offering a few lucky fans the chance to stay in Stu's house. Per the Airbnb listing, the $5 stays included classic '90s snacks like Jiffy Pop and the chance to get a call from Ghostface on a landline phone. In the movie, Stu's house is in the fictional Woodsboro, Calif. in the middle of nowhere. In real life, Stu's party house is located in Tomales, Calif., 70 miles north of San Francisco.

Then, there’s a full tour of the house, which has knife marks on the doors. A movie marathon will take place with all four Scream films (on VHS because ‘90s nostalgia), complete with classic snacks. And, there’s a chance to call Ghostface… if he doesn’t give you a ring on the landline first.

Death

The victorian style house – an horror classic type of architecture – was built in 1995. It is another location surrounded by  vineyards that you cannot visit without authorization. After the previous nights events, they are staged right outside of the residence in early dawn hours.

On one Thursday night in late-September 1995, the pair secretly invaded Sidney Prescott's house, 34 Elm Street. After Maureen had seduced Cotton Weary, who left inebriated without his coat, they made their move. Both teenagers, around 16 or 17, stabbed the 45-year-old housewife to death. As a Woodsboro High senior, he is the fun-loving boyfriend of supporting character, Tatum Riley. Previously, he dated Casey Becker until she dumped him for Steven Orth, a football player.

Stu's Party (

Although Stu dies at the end of the first Scream, the trailer for 2022's Scream (which fans have dubbed Scream 5), shows Sidney and Gale back at Stu's house. There's also a shot in the trailer featuring one of the new characters in Stu's old house, leading fans to believe she now lives there. Bookings are first come, first served, and only open to residents of the United States. The Tomales, California house will follow the rules in line with local safety guidelines and abide by Airbnb's five-step enhanced cleaning process.

This obviously includes Stu Macher’s house from Scream, which was used heavily during the movie’s third act. What’s more, both the interiors and exteriors for the house were taken from the same real-life building, located in Tomales, California. If that’s not enough, the iconic structure mostly looks the same all these years later.

She later electrocuted Stu to death, after he was dying of blood loss from both Billy's stabbing and Sidney's attack. It looks beautiful, really, but if I stayed the night I think I would just hear "hello, Sidney" in my head all night long. Spring Hill Estate is a popular wedding venue and, regardless of how horrifying Stu's party was, the weddings thrown on the property are quite stunning.

Later, Vince Schneider is the first victim of a new Ghostface killing spree. Amber Freeman (the other secret killer) tells the group at Martha Meeks's house that he was the nephew of Stu. Meanwhile, Tara's friend, Liv McKenzie is unfamiliar with Stu (as are some of the others). Having processed this information, Sam suggests the killer is targeting people related to the original killers. Stu and Billy reveal their plan to Sidney, including how they are going to frame her father, Neil Prescott.

The couple died in 1991 shortly after the house was built, according to reports. Airbnb promises that the house has knife marks on the doors and the same harrowing three-car garage where Tatum Riley, played by Rose McGowan, is killed in the movie. The home is set up with a “dedicated phone line” to reach Ghostface, and guests will get a virtual greeting from “Scream” actor David Arquette playing his role as Deputy Dewey at check-in. The Archer building features recast decorative concrete panels and historically-accurate replacement windows, as the originals had deteriorated beyond repair. The Donahue incorporates street-level access to residential units, accented with bronze and granite, taking inspiration from the surrounding residences.

Following the original murder spree, the Macher parents sold 261 Turner Lane to Amber Freeman's parents. As fate would have it, she too would become a Ghostface serial killer, obsessed with the Stab films originally based on Stu's life. Airbnb, Paramount Pictures, and Dewey Riley himself (sometimes known as David Arquette) have joined forces to make Stu Macher’s house a scary vacation spot. Booking opens up on October 12 at 1pm ET for a chance to stay on October 27, 29, or the infamous Halloween night.

Dewey is carried out on a stretcher and survived while Randy and Neil are able to walk, but received medical attention. When Billy attacks Sidney he is about to stab her with a knife but is shot in the shoulder by Gale. Randy, Sidney, and Gale gather round Billy and Randy mentions how Killers in movies always come back to life for one last scare. That is when Billy opens his eyes and Sidney shoots him in the head, finally killing him. It was originally home to the Macher family, where Original Woodsboro Murders accomplice killer, Stu Macher lived prior and during the events of the original Scream film. Stu Macher’s house chilled horror fans in the 1996 thriller “Scream,” and it’s now just $5 to rent on Airbnb for three nights only.

Now YouTube channel Dead Meat has taken the opportunity to give a tour of the fan-favorite Scream house. Stuart "Stu" Macher is the secondary antagonist of Scream (1996 film). He is Billy Loomis's accomplice, as well as an insensitive and eccentric best friend.

And what’s also great about this new film, is that it also uses Stu Macher’s house from the original Scream! While plot details are scarce, early reviews for the film have been quite positive. As such, it’s presumable that the film does great justice to this beloved shooting location. Nestled in the quiet rolling hills of Tomales, California, it's the perfect destination for any Scream fan. Amber Freeman hosts a memorial celebration party in honor of her late friend, Wes Hicks' life at her house.

Amber is able to get one last fight in before Tara shoots her and kills her for good. Stu asks his girlfriend Tatum Riley to get some beers from the garage, she refuses to, until her brother Dewey arrives with news reporter Gale Weathers. When alone in the garage, she is attacked by Ghostface, who she throws two beer bottles at, incapacitating him. Tatum tries climbing through the cat flap of the garage door as her only way out, but can't fit through. Ghostface takes advantage of Tatum's situation and turns on the garage door, which lifts her up and once it gets to the top, it crushes her neck and electrocutes her. The house served as a hostage base for Neil Prescott for a period of two days, after Stu abducted him from 34 Elm Street.
